Green Tea Side Effects Cancer Prevention
As if you hadn't heard or did not already know. A side effect of green tea is cancer prevention.
It is possible to experience some weight loss when your tea is combined with caffeine. If you are trying to lose weight drinking caffeine free tea then give it up. The caffeine plays a big role in the stimulation of fat loss and metabolism. So whether it is Oolong tea (Wu Long Tea) or green tea be sure it is not decaf.
Okay, no back to my original idea I wanted to get across. Give up sports drinks and vitamin water and all that other labratory crated junk. Switch to drinking teas.
Here is the proof of a study (hint: if you want to skip the boring stuff, green tea, most specifically the EGCG helps to fight cancer.)
A bunch of mice were given colon cancer. Then half drank water and the lucky half got to drink green tea for around 8 weeks.
RESULTS: The number of NEW colon tumors was significantly lower in the green tea group, although there was no difference in tumors that already existed.
We are not the same as mice but another green tea study, just published, shows that an extract of green tea may produce very beneficial results in the human immune system.
The protectors are antioxidant flavonoids called catechins, of which EGCG is the most abundant of the four types of green tea catechins, and is the component of green tea that has been shown to inhibit tumor cell growth.
I could go on, and there are human studies that help to back up the cancer prevention power of green tea and the EGCG catechins. Plus there is a long list of other benefits.
So what are you waiting for. Go get some green tea or wu long tea - also known as oolong tea and drink to your better health right now. Vitacost.com is a good place to shop
Just be sure to avoid adding sugar or artificial sweetners. Use Stevia as your sweetner.
GREEN TEA PILLS
No need to drink a bunch of green tea. Green tea pills with high amounts of EGCG will deliver more cancer prevention protection than drinking a few cups of tea will.
Check out Vitacost.com which is where I get most of my herbal supplies at great prices.
Of course it doesn't hurt to do both, drink some green tea and take the green tea pills. You will be sure to round out the benefits of both methods.
